PC Hardware & Gaming News: 9 September 2026

Catch up on September 2026 PC hardware and gaming news: NVIDIA DLSS 5, AMD Radeon drivers, Thermalright cooling and PC Game Pass updates for Indian gamers.

Checked on 9 September 2026. This roundup covers recent official updates and separates announced schedules from confirmed hardware specifications.

NVIDIA DLSS 5 reaches NBA 2K27

NVIDIA's 3 September Game Ready announcement confirms that NBA 2K27 supports DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. NVIDIA describes the feature as using artist-guided AI models to change lighting and material detail. The same driver announcement adds support for Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

For players, the useful detail is compatibility: owning an older RTX card does not establish support for this new DLSS 5 feature. NVIDIA's separate DLSS 5 announcement includes RTX 50 Series laptops. Check the exact GPU and the game's settings before expecting the option to appear.

Pixlboard's take: compare image quality and responsiveness in the games you actually play before treating a rendering feature as a reason to upgrade. The announcements establish feature support; they do not establish a universal frame-rate improvement.

AMD Adrenalin 26.9.1 targets new games and crash fixes

AMD's optional Adrenalin Edition 26.9.1 driver, updated on 3 September, adds support for Onimusha: Way of the Sword and The Blood of Dawnwalker. Its release notes also list a fix for intermittent crashes in Starfield and Apex Legends on Radeon RX 9000 Series graphics.

Read the known issues alongside the highlights. AMD says Smart Access Memory can become disabled after installation on Windows 10 systems. For laptops and all-in-one PCs, AMD recommends manufacturer-provided drivers tailored to the device. Handheld gaming devices require their manufacturer's drivers.

If one of these games is in your rotation, check whether your exact graphics product appears in the compatibility list. A relevant driver fix may address a problem without requiring a hardware purchase.

Thermalright's AXP120-X77 BLACK puts case clearance in focus

Thermalright now lists the AXP120-X77 BLACK with a 77 mm total height, six 6 mm heatpipes and a slim 120 mm fan. Its official compatibility list includes AMD AM4 and AM5, plus Intel LGA1700 and LGA1851 among other sockets. The product page is undated; these specifications were checked on 9 September.

The compact design makes this a useful cooling development to follow for smaller PC builds. Thermalright also tells buyers to check case height limits and avoid interference with tall memory modules.

Pixlboard's take: socket compatibility is only the first check. Compare the cooler's full dimensions with the cabinet's clearance and the motherboard layout. The official listing does not establish Indian pricing, local stock or performance inside your particular case.

September's PC Game Pass dates to watch

Microsoft's 1 September announcement schedules Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for PC Game Pass on 8 September. Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage follows on 10 September, with RuneScape: Dragonwilds scheduled for 15 September.

Departures matter too: Frostpunk 2, Cricket 24 and Dead Cells are among the titles listed as leaving the PC catalogue on 15 September. These are the publisher's announced dates; check the Xbox app for availability under your account and region.

Before downloading, compare each game's official system requirements with your PC and check available storage. A subscription addition does not change the hardware needed to run the game.

What this means for Indian PC builders

Start with the game, resolution and performance target you care about. Then check driver support, component compatibility and local availability. International announcements do not confirm an Indian launch date, rupee price or warranty terms.

For a new cabinet, compare motherboard support, graphics-card clearance, CPU-cooler height and fan or radiator mounting options against your exact parts. Leave room in the budget for the components your build actually needs.

Explore Pixlboard's PC cabinet collection and use the listed specifications to narrow down a case for your build. Product availability should always be checked on the current listing.
